With housing at an all time is anyone making the 1 hour treck to Santa clarita/palmdale? Yeah we know the suburbs suck but does the 500 sq foot apartment that hasn't been refurbished since 1963 for 2500/month suck even more?
I used to commute from north Hollywood to to torrance. Move to the valley:)
There's like no big companies worth working for in Torrance...were you commuting for Toyota or something?
Used to do that commute. Expect a normal bumper to bumper 1.5hr commute each way with spikes up to 2 hrs and beyond when there are incidents. Highly recommend NOT doing that commute to keep your sanity. If you must, take metrolink -> metro rail -> expo rail. Or the santa clarita express bus to ucla. The only legit reason most people suffer through it is when they have kids. Also you can use the Waze "later" feature to see exactly what the commute would be like on each week day.
Avoid Palmdale. It's too far. Santa Clarita offers great lifestyle and is excellent for raising kids. Commute to west LA can be tiring. Commute to San Fernando valley is manageable. Try Woodland Hills area. You can hit PCH via Topanga Canyon easily.
I know people doing the commute. They’re losing their minds.
I was one of them. Took drastic measures to get out of it.
This is a broken city. Companies need to consider downtown more so train is more often a viable option for employees.
I am a current commuter and the traffic is getting worse by the day. I commute from west LA to Pasadena and have been doing this for over a year. It’s terrible. Find a job closer is my suggestion
