Levels.fyi mentions annual comp for Snap as 400k for L4 and 571k for L5 on average. Are these realistic annual numbers? Why is snap paying so much, their hiring bar isnt that high either tc 230
Numbers are legit. Our hiring bar is pretty high. The last 10+ interview loops I’ve been part of were all rejected. And almost all of them were from MS/Amzn/FB/G
What’s Snapchat?
Well OP hiring bar is nothing to do with work. Take example of FB I lost my intern to to FB when it came to full time job why because they paid him 15 percent more and had relatively tough interview. What is he doing there .. glorified data engineer and reality writing basic code to map data from one format to another
yeah because Salesforce work is so much cooler than glorified data mapping 🙄
He is making more money than he would working for you. It only shows you in poor light. Your company doesn’t have the chops to compete in the open market.
Numbers are true.
Very surprised ! But glad to hear this!
Snap will be bombarded with resumes now. OP you got a referral link? Do they pay you for referrals?
That has been a known info for some time already. The good time to join was when the stock was 5-6-7$. It doubled since then.
Only a matter of time until it has hiring freeze like Uber imo
Yeah, they're real. I had a Snap L4 offer last year: 190k base + 750k in RSUs vesting monthly over 4 years (no cliff). They were also claiming $187k/year in RSU refreshers (750/4) for meets expectations, but my recruiter was honest with me and told me that was always in flux and liable to be cancelled at any time given the company's financial situation. Can't speak to the hiring bar but the interview process was pretty standard west coast tech (PS in particular was tough). The two things that stood out to me were that 1.) there was no design component whatsoever (just coding and a bit of behavioral) and 2.) I interviewed with one team but ended up being offered spots on 7 others instead (according to recruiter I didn't have the specific skill set they wanted, but my fundamentals were "strong"). I thought the SWEs I talked to were really sharp and universally great to talk to, but morale was horrible. If I had to guess, they're a lot more keen on culture fit/sociability than many other companies; that's where the bar seemed highest. Oh, and there was a definite air of desperation. Even after turning the offer down, they checked in with me several more times over the next 6+ months to re-extend it (which implies that their offer acceptance rate is low, at least with respect to my level/domain). In retrospect, maybe I should've taken it in December...
Bar is higher now than it was 6 months ago also the company mood is different, work wise I think it is much better than Facebook and Google.
Snapchat l4 = Google/fb l5
Not exactly. Snap L4 ~ Google’s high L4 / Low L5.
