This will only lead to socialism. Period. Go study some research you will find that: if they disclose more, people will get more averaged and mediocre pay in the end.
The company can always refuse paying more. And a candidate can always leave if they feel they're being undervalued. Imo it's classic free market and capitalism, just more transparent.
Capitalism does not lead to transparent at all. Socialism does that better becuase everybody gets similar pay.
Disclosing this information can impact morale significantly. Most of people will feel underpaid as salaries usually follow a normal distribution. Would you put more effort knowing for sure that you have an average salary? The only effect for this is to increase job hoping or mediocrity.
No I am largely against regulations. Unless it’s a matter of public health or safety then no we shouldn’t make companies do that. And yes I acknowledge it would probably help the worker.
There is quite a bit of research on this topic. It would be a net positive to society.
