Was curious about companies that don't stack rank employees or manage people out for the sake of churn but still pay decently. Specifically companies that ask people to leave even though they performed well but somehow someone must get the chop because of the bellcurve or whatever they call it, basically places where you get to keep your job if you do it well and not worry about the curve.
Every company does this whether or not they say they do. Stop being such a low performer.
Not every company does stacked ranking. Have no interest in going to a company where you can be performing just fine but get low numbers because your new or don’t play the politics game
I’m sorry this is every company every human whether or not they say they do it.
No company that I'd want to work for
Does Google stack rank and fire? Can't tell if you're saying you wouldn't work for a company that DOESN'T stack rank and fire, or one that does. And of course there's a big difference between firing some people, and stack ranking and firing a fixed percentage of people per unit time

If such a company exists, it would attract lazy people from everywhere. Do you really want to work there?
Plenty of companies exist like that. They just tend to be mid to small-size, with a heavy focus on collaboration instead of competition within the ranks. They do lay off people (but only if they run out of cash). They're typically very picky about hiring, and they only get rid of people after a lot of warning (or if the person is acting maliciously). It's a different world to the impersonal megacorp.
Plenty? Let’s see you name a few then.
Budget is finite. All companies must decide who gets a raise and who doesn't. What system are you thinking of, that would solve this without doing any comparison between divisions, teams or individuals?
Appraisal based hike is okay, but being forced out or pipd because you are at the bottom of tue curve or did your job but didnt lick enough ass kinda place.
OP, come join a healthcare company.
UHG?
Healthcare companies also layoff
Bloomberg has stack ranking to determine annual raises, but does not fire a fixed percentage of the bottom performers afaik

Is it cheaper to eat chipotle everyday than buy groceries ?
Not c1
Fact.
It's actually a little worse at C1 because the managers don't know what talent looks like, so they have to rely on the good ol' who-do-I-like-ameter... Which sucks if you aren't the same color as your manager, but even if you are, it's very hard to tell if they're actually fighting for you or just claiming to be
