I would like to know what companies do take referrals seriously, like I received calls from Visa, Keeptruckin and Verizon when someone referred me through blind but didn't get calls for Apple, MS, Salesforce and IBM when someone from here referred. So would like to know other companies that are in similar domain.
Apple take referrals seriously. They're just not as quick. It helps make things quicker if someone is directly sending your resume over to HM as compared to the general portal. Keep reaching out to recruiters via LinkedIn too.
It's been more than 2 months and haven't heard a work back from Apple. I have tried the other method where I keep reaching out to recruiters via LinkedIn but found out that it's not an effective method as most of the time they don't respond to my messages or Inmails.
Lol OP, Apple takes its sweet time. I was called one year after referral. My friend was called 38 months after referral. There are a few blokes on quora who say they were called 10 years after.
Amazon, google, and just about any startup.
You are basically asking for companies with a broken referral system if you want referrals from blind to work...
That's what I wanted to ask! As I'm new to tech industry, taking referrals from Blind is my only hope.
It’s probably because you’re relying on random referrals from Blind. Most companies explicitly ask whether you’ve worked with the person and you’re willing to vouch for your work. I’m sure most are saying they haven’t working with you, pushing you down in the queue. But Google and Facebook have referral SLAs if you meet this criteria.
What's SLAs? I don't have any other option apart from relying on Blind referrals as I'm just starting my career and don't have much friends in tech industry who can vouch for my work.
Sorry - service level agreement, ie recruiter at Google will reach out within 7 days of a referral. I’d recommend networking and building relationships that way if you can!
