Have 5 yoe and currently an SDE III. Was wondering which companies offer promotions faster. I understand that promotion will be based on performance and want to see what the best case looks like at different companies (assuming I meet/ exceed expectations for the current role). Current TC is 140k.
Why do you care more about getting promoted than TC? You could join a company like Microsoft with a higher number of levels if the act of getting promoted is the most important thing to you, but want to stay in tech.
Updated my post. It's not that I don't care about TC, it is just that I would want to get promoted if I meet/exceed the expectations.
If by career progression you mean climbing the ladder within the company then Google is not the right place. I came to Google for a high TC with a downlevel. Don’t see myself promoted here any time soon.
Facebook has no promotion quota (some companies do) and if you can consistently operate at the next level for a couple halves, you will get promoted. That said, operating at the next level can be hard for some people. We expect senior individual contributors to not only execute well, but also drive the business forward, which requires good communications skills that many people underrate.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
You only care title? Investment bank. You start as a VP
No. I don't *only* care about the title. Just trying to see what career progressions look like at other companies. Also, want to stick to tech.
