Late stage fintech, may be going IPO soon. $180K base, $10k sign on bonus, $50k in stock over 4 years.. Blockchain based early startup.. Hedera.. Solid team. $170K base, 2.5 millions coins/tokens.. Over 4 years..worth over $200K with current value.. Third option is to stay at current place until get better of both.. Yoe: 15 Current TC: $210K (including stocks) Bay area
Go FAANG, you'll probably waste time and get screwed these days with a start-up
Why do you say that? Especially if you believe in the value of block chain tech?
Believing in blockchain as a technology or even cryptocurrency as a viable efficient means of transfer of value isn’t the same as believing in a random startup and its proprietary cryptocurrency. I actually regularly use (not just hodl and preach propaganda) bitcoin unlike the vast majority of “believers” and I wouldn’t touch 99% of crypto startups.
YOE, location? Current TC?

Credit Karma has been saying that they will IPO next year for the past 5 years. I would look for a public company and not deal with the startup nonsense.
Offer number 1 looks to be below your current TC. The offer number 2 seems to be just a little over it but includes a massive risk. Pass on both. Continue looking.
Thanks! Agree that offer 1 is not that great so going to give it a pass for sure. I'm confused for offer 2. Blockchain startup has huge potential in my mind but since its startup so has all inherent risks. If it goes good then I'll make good money because they gave me quite a good number of coins.. So not able to give it a pass quite that easily..
If it goes bad, you loose it all.
Your current TC is better than both offers, so why even consider them? Blockchain job is a hit or miss thing, your 200k might become $0.
Can you liquidate those coins immediately when vested? If so then they are better than illiquid shares from a private startup. Just negotiate for more because they are more risky.
I'm guessing that should be "current", not "correct". Don't you think your current TC and YOE might be relevant if you're including the third option?
That's right.. Fixed it
