Thinking of joining a top-VC funded startup in Seattle, who just raised their series B. I'd be joining as a "product analyst" (which to them is the position just under product manager), an entry level position. Being offered TC of 70k (65 base + 5 so), with 0 yoe. Is this good or am I being underpaid?
Seattle, WA???
What’s the company and what’s your educational background?
Background in machine learning, can't talk about the company
What does that mean? Bachelor degree in CS? A boot camp in machine learning? A PhD? Hard to assess the offer without knowing about the company or the candidate!
You are not being underpaid. You have 0 YoE and close to 0 relevant educational experience and you are making $70k. If you end up being successful you will be able to make more in the future, but for a starting salary $65k is actually great.
Agree. School and bootcamps are very different than real life experiences working on real company problems and dealing with people. Give yourself 12 months, prove yourself, and you’ll likely be able to double your salary in 18 months tops. So concentrate in proving yourself first.
Agreed. OP, you're entry level and they don't seem to even be demanding any particular specialized skills. 70k is fantastic money for such a position.

You're only being underpaid if you can get a better offer. It's fairly low though.
