Compensation query for Amazon Hyderabad.
Selected as QAE 1 in Amazon Hyderabad. Its level 4. I am having total 4 years of experience. They are offering me 12.3la(base) + (4.7 1st year sign on and 3.6 lac 2nd year sign on) and some stocks(not sure as it was telephonic discussion and couldn't hear exact details. yet to receive offer letter) My current ctc is 11.5lacs(in hand fixed salary) and I will have to leave pune to join amazon. Should I join amazon or it won't be a great deal, considering I am not at all comfortable for leaving pune. I am just hoping I would get good exposure in learning as well as financial growth perspective in Amazon. Please suggest. @amazon

For this I have a valid answer. I told my friend to refer me for QAE pune. Gave him job id. But later on got to know there was some technical glitch on their site and the position was actually for Hyderabad location. Unexpectedly got a call and got selected as well. But now as amazon is having good brand value, I am confused, what to compromise, comfort zone for career or better career opportunity for comfort zone. So If I would get some suggestions about the offer, it will be really helpful for me to decide.π
Joining Amazon can change your life by A) allowing you to move to any other country. B) Enabling role change to SDET in 1-2 years depending on your current skills. If you're not looking for any of the above, then don't move. You can learn new skills anywhere depending on your desire.
Considering above factors only I am very much aligned towards joining amazon. But the real concern I am having is my base salary which is only 12.3lacs(my current is 11.2lacs). I will not be eligible for 2020 amazon' appraisal. + I am leaving current company's bonus and appraisal (supposed to be happen in December and effective from march). And if I will try to switch company after march, I would easily get 15-16 lacs tc in pune And that will be fixed. In Amazon I will get 17lacs for 2020 and 16lacs for 2021, and after that depends upon appraisal and hike but it very much about to decrease. This is what am mainly concerned about. π Any clarification on this will be highly grateful..βΊοΈ
Hi there, I have also made a similar call to join Amazon, considering the fact that I will not be eligible for any appraisal for 2020. Just to tell you, I also lived in Pune in 2017 for almost 7 months, I loved the city, but sometimes you have to move, you can always come back later. But, there are two other things to keep in mind: - Amazon's scale, you can switch teams, locations, roles etc whatever you want - Amazon's brand value, will open doors at Google and others
Wait before they tell you your stocks. Amazon stocks are really doing great.
