2 yoe.
Amazon Comp: 110000+20000+15% of 70 shares
Oracle Comp: 170000 + 25% of 5000 shares.
AWS has a shiny brand name, cloud business numba 1. Should I move because of TC boost?

If it's an offer from OCI, its quite risky in terms of uncertainty around frequent lay-offs, immature leadership, chaotic teams, struggling services ....

Well you do realize OCI leadership is basically amazon

OP, but those 2 of ur friends were definitely weren't under poor leadership (imagine an Amazon's form SSDE suddenly becomes SVP of Software Development, leading thousands of engineer which has lead to utter chaos).

“Suddenly” meaning over 5-6 years and with a significant track record of delivery and relationship with the C-level executives.

What do you think why are they offering that TC to somebody with 2 yoe? No offense, but if you think it's because you're that good you'll be wrong. With a shitshow that OCI is the only way for them to get new half-decent engineers is to offer unrealistic TCs...But hey, at the end of the day, money makes b*tches right?

      OP,
Not everyone is “privileged” enough to be able to go to a top school. Very smart and talented people come from all walks of life. Just because there family couldn’t send them to the best school doesn’t mean they are not smarter or would not out perform someone who did.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many very smart and talented individuals. The things they all had in common weren’t the school they went to as some were from top schools and others were from some no name schools. The things they all had in common were they were all very humble and respectful of everyone even if they disagreed.

Hopefully as you progress your career you start some self-reflecting.

Sadly, Real Santa is right. The OCI brand is so shitstained right now, they have to give high moneyz.

I went to a no name university and have worked regularly side by side with other engineers from Stanford, Berkeley, Cornell etc. The only difference is I don't have any debt and/or parents who paid for tuition, yet we both have the same job and pay.

Internal Oracle blind topic is a mess with rumors of layoffs, no focals.

Stay away from OCI - It's the same shitty oracle. Join if you don't care about raise, work culture, and job security! It just keeps getting worse day after day

Lol, if they keep you for a year.
Its yearly vesting here. Good luck though

Also, let us know when you get offer in hand and joining date. It will be another 3-4 month for sure. Come and join the shit show!

Amazon is 5% vesting for the first year and we are likely to be piped. Is it better? Lol

Amazon can pip you the next day literally after telling that you are a TT. So if the offer is as good as you mention then just take it.

There is a difference between piped and getting laid off in 2 weeks. To each his own.

That is a great offer from Oracle wow, I should really take a shot at it. I would take it unless you really like your team and what you do. Almost a 100k difference!

Despite lots of OCI haters, there are good teams in OCI. Talk to the HM to get the roadmap for the next few years. What matters is whether it interests/challenges you. Don’t always chase for the comp.

I have one-on-one with skip level on Thursday which never really happens. Hoping it's the pink slip so I can part away with severance. I got two offers I'm trying to choose from. It's very distracting to get anything done with so many unknowns and no focals.
