Am interested in Sr. Manager position at MS’ Corp Strategy Team. Can someone share: 1) what the interview style and process is like? 2) what is the day to day work like? My assumption is that the interview will be case interviews (kind of like consulting). And that day to day work will be mostly building PowerPoint slides. Thanks.
It’s a really really great gig if you can get it. Working against the company’s biggest problems. Get to know a lot of people across a lot of disciplines and turn outside research, lots of phone calls, and good analysis into PowerPoint slides. Think internal consulting.
How much do these positions pay, genuinely curious, say, for a level 63?
Thanks for the helpful input!
Salary for 63 in this role is likely around 130-140k
I believe it would be a great role. Day to day is close to what someone highlighted above. Regarding process, from what I have learnt, it includes telephonic followed by a written submission(case) and then loop. First two are elimination.
Bump - would like to learn more about this
Hi OP, I’m curious how your interview process and experience ended up being for that team/role, and if it converted, then how the job has been. Feel free to reply here or DM if preferred, thanks!
Curious to know more
PowerPoint is for telling stories. Excel and Word are where real work gets done. Probably a lot of modeling. Rather than ask the anonymous hive mind, you might do some informationals with others on that team. The job may not be what you think.
So you have to be tall
This is wrong - OP, assumptions in your post are correct
