Lets buy a house? Sure, how much you contributing, I am broke.
What is emi?
Indian slang for mortgage lol
Easy monthly installment. The term used in India for monthly mortgage payments.
It can’t be worse than the cost of a good English tutor
Homeowner’s insurance Homeowner's association fee Home warranties Utilities Other city or county fees
Do not buy a home warranty and ideally you buy a place without hoa
Out-of-context question: Is “public2” the re-incarnation of “public” or just some other rando?
Pool, garden cost $$$. Hey FB, don't sweat. Everyone makes it through
Losing your H1b visa while waiting for your GC should be your biggest risk. As long as you have a visa you will not have issue with mortgage. But there is no way you can make your payments if you move back to India or even Canada. So buy based on probability of multiple H1b renewals
You can rent it out. Idea is to adjust budget or pay enough downpay so if shit hits the fan your rent can offset the majority of your mortgage
You need to pay down a crazy amount of money before rent starts to cover stuff. $1.5k will go monthly for just property tax alone. Add 1 month rent buffer for tenant turnover and another month rent for property manager etc. you could carry $700k mortgage. But you would have no liquid savings and you still need to work at least for 2 H1b renewals to get the mortgage down to that level
Water/Electricity/Garbage Bills, Gardener and maybe Cleaners/Contractors based on renovation work you want to get done.
Time keeping it clean. Maids just f everything up.
