The other day I was checking my work phone at a fine restaurant and I noticed two coworkers who generally don't get a long got in it in a slack thread. I'm not sure if you've tried MS's shitty new app "teams" where it forces every interaction as a thread that has a "resolution" but some people are into it and others aren't. Honestly it reminds me of google wave but that's not the point. After biting into my chicken parm, I got a notification. My manager noticed the two going at it in the thread and one of them called the other a "threader." Now the person who called the other person a threader was similar to the arrest recently made in Texas if you catch my drift. Anyways we now have an all hands on slack etiquette tomorrow and my manager is working with HR to clean up this mess.
Can’t you “accidentally” delete the threads? Or better write a bot that closes oldest threads if the count crosses a threshold.
Shut up nerd
🙃
I hate that it spins off sub-threads. I could see the benefit in some situations, but it generally just gets pointlessly abused for 1-2 sentence responses that are 30 seconds later
Personally I think threaders are annoying
So how was the chicken parm?
It was aight. Hard to find good chicken parms in Seattle.
So, Seattle is well, on the literal opposite side of the country. But if you ever find yourself in Key West. Go here. Order the chicken parmesan or any other meal and some wine. You won’t regret it. Mangia Mangia Pasta Cafe https://goo.gl/maps/PD6VVDWpdXjPTnhq9
