Received a verbal offer from the recruiter - Role - Sr. Software Eng. Base - 190 K Bonus - 57 K Equity - 170K in Cruise stocks (1 + 4). Location - Seattle YOE - 6 Current TC - 162K base + 21K Bonus + 85K equity (in seattle) Overall Cruise is offering more in cash but less in Equity. Not sure about the value of the pre ipo stock either. How much can I negotiate here? Also would love some insight on the work culture and WLB. Thanks!
Is the bonus a sign on bonus or yearly target? Is yearly target that's good. If one time, not great.

That's a good offer then. Assuming senior is L5/E5/L4 at amzn/fb/goog. Then it's close to 250 all cash without the equity component. That would be a good offer at that level in the tech companies I mentioned
Their stock is shit, super overpriced. Only go if the liquid component is better than your current TC.

Recently joined Cruise and it’s a fucking dumpster fire. Haven’t been here for a year and I wanna get out like yesterday. The bonus and overpriced RSU are not worth the toll on your mental health.

Not a good place as an engineer with experience. Incompetent middle managers and “senior” ICs. Everything is about politics, not about the work and teams are often antagonistic. SDCs are cool but not cool enough to pay down that environment
