Cupertino schools question

Hi all, my kids will be starting kindergarten this coming fall and the amount of information is kind of overwhelming. Anyone have experience willing to discuss a bit? Some initial questions:. -How easy is it to change schools? -What is the student teacher ratio really and where can you get accurate numbers? -What after school programs are good/worth it? -Whats the best way to pick schools? Thanks fellow parents!!

Mostly you can’t pick school. There would be one dedicated home school for your address. All others answers are depends on the home school.. there are 4 lottery schools. You can apply one lottery school other than your home school. Check district office for more details

For Cupertino, your school is determined by your residence address. You should check the Cupertino school district for more details about your assigned school. Aside from the assigned home school, there are four school of choices in which you have to apply separately. Each is kind of experimental depending on your family values. One is traditionally very academic-based, one is Chinese-immersion, one focuses on the “needs of students”, and one focuses on continuous learning with longer school year (but with more breaks sparked throughout the school year). So depends on what your perspective of a good education there can be quite a few choices. Feel free to PM me for further info.

By the way the diversity distribution of Cupertino districts says its 80% asian to me that sounds sending the kid to school of the stress and anxiety and asking for problems. I wouldn’t send my kid there :( he/she is an American :)
