Little over an year back I got OCI and Dropbox offers. The base and stock was similar but OCI didnt have cash bonus. Also Dropbox vibe felt much better, so I chose Dropbox.

Now I am kind of getting bored at Dropbox and was thinking if I made the right choice. maybe I should reach out to hiring manager at OCI and ask if he’d still hire me? How is it inside OCI right now? Worth considering?

Why don’t you just reach out to the hiring manager? OCI is on a hiring spree right now. Today’s press coverage indicate that they will be expanding to 17 regions by the end of 2020, thus averaging a new region build out every 22 days.

Yes I want to but generally wanted to take pulse on how people who are there feel!

Active Blind users who will actually respond to your question may not be reliable sources of information. Most company reviews on Blind are negative and threads on specific companies tend to be echo chambers for a small group of people. You can do a simple search and will find the same set of usual suspects with similar complaints about everything that is wrong with company X.

Since you already have a job and don’t actually have to leave Dropbox, you are in a catbird seat. It’s the best time to check it out for yourself. You should reach out to the hiring manager for a quick informational, potentially visit the office to check out the vibe there for yourself.

Most hiring managers are experienced working adults, so they actually may appreciate you being candid and just ask your questions upfront. Tell them why you are actually reconsidering the role and what you want to get out of it if you join OCI. Life’s too short to beat around the bush on these issues so just be straight with the manager. As long as you are cordial and professional, you should be able to get the info you need to make the decision.
