Opinions wanted. Moving to DC area soona ND looking for opinions on where the best places to live for 40 year olds with no kids.
Reston or Arlington
Arlington. Pay to save your time
The comments above are silly. Everyone in the DC area knows there are three types of people: city people (DC). Virginia people and Maryland people. All three groups are legitimately different, most would not consider the other two. Find out which of those three types you are first, then choose neighborhood second.

OP is not a city person. I enjoyed Maryland while I was up there. I love in Texas now. So wide open spaces are nice to me
Since your office is near union station and you’re not going in every day, you have a lot more options than most. Like coastal towns? What about Annapolis? Nature? The MARC runs to West VA. Like urban, but not DC prices? Baltimore has some nice neighborhoods.
Alexandria is also a nice and peaceful town and not too far from DC.
Where in dc
My office is a short walk from Union Station
