Has anyone gone to a dentist in USA? I am traveling to India and planning to get braces. I got to know that I have to meet the dentist every month to get the adjustment done so planning to get the adjustment in USA. Anyone any idea how much does it cost to visit the dentist for the adjustment here? Any recommendations folks! I will be joining Microsoft so any benefits I can take out the insurance there?
What's your TC?
First off, orthodontists are the type of dentists that do braces. Source: I have braces. Call the insurance company, there are two dental plans. One covers it and one doesn’t. I paid $5,200 cash for mine and the insurance sent me a check for $1200 and $50 every month after that. I don’t know if they’ll pay internationally so call Delta Dental of WA first and ask:1-800-554-1907. My adjustments are every 4-6 weeks but occasionally a bracket does break and I need to go in earlier.
Hey I don’t want to get in India if any of the plans here is paying for the braces. The reason to get it done in India was to save money. I have never been to a orthodontist here so just want to know whether do you have to pay to them every time you visit them? Is it covered in the insurance? Thanks for the inputs.
You can pay anywhere from $25-$50 a visit with a modest down payment (say $300.) However, I saved 7 percent by negotiating a lower price and using the insurance. Also, as someone else said the consultation is free and you can shop around.
For any orthodontic treatment in WA, the state max is approx $7200. I think insurance up to $2300 and the rest is out of pocket. First talk with orthodontist on how much it would cost and plan accordingly. Many orthodontist provide free consultations.

This is great information. Just checked, really helped.

It’s a lot of random stuff.
Braces would be covered by his FSA/HSA. Amazon makes us fill out a form for reimbursement. I know some companies send their employees a prepaid card or something.
Op was concerned having too much left over at the end of the year. The link is an Easy way to spend the remainder on necessities.
You can clear align braces in India, with those you won't have to go to a dentist again. You will be given 12 or so pairs of it which you will have to change around every 4 weeks or so. You can change them at home., I was quoted 1,40000 Rs or like 2000 dollars by the doctor in India for that
Sucks hope you are doing well
No one in the USA goes to a dentist.
Lmao was going to comment this. Is going to the dentist not common in India? I guess perhaps we take that for granted here.
Generally true about under developed countries. People go only if they really.needed to. Here insurance covers a lot of preventive stuff like cleaning.
