I am in bad need for a change! I have an interview with Facebook for data science role. Did anyone here went through the interview process? They said coding and product sense questions. SQL/R is fine for me but I don't know what to study to answer product sense questions. Any resources to practice for FB interview? Any help would be appreciated Thank you
And yeah go through the Glassdoor questions there are plenty there ! For FB Data scientist
What team is the position with?
Do they tell the team? I thought they put you in some sort of bootcamp and let you decide after the training.
Depends, some teams hire directly. You'll still go through bootcamp but will end up at your team at the end. Might be worth asking your recruiter if you're preallocated
Last week cleared the telephonic round. Go through the Glassdoor questions and focus more on A/B testing. Any resources for the onsite interview?
Any preparation resources? How did the interview go for you?
Just go through Glassdoor. Practice SQL well. For product sense, focus more on defining metrics, counter-metrics and how you will experimentally measure them and show-off a bit of sample size/power calculation. FB DS interview is pretty straightforward.
I have my telephonic round next week. Any suggestions for the SQL prep ? What is the level of SQL expected ? Is it expected that answers can be deformed using joins and aggregate and analytical functions or do you need to be comfortable with pivots and more specific functions ?
Left, right and outer joins and how do you handle NAs. Maybe review how you can use self joins to do things like running average. I wouldn’t worry too much about analytical functions but yeah group bys are important.
There's no right or wrong answer for the product sense questions but what do they actually look for? @Facebook
Any resources?
Were you able to get the job OP? Any suggestions on the resources?
What kind of SQL questions?
How’s the comp for these roles ? How about analytics manager at the m1 and m2 levels
I gave it last week its easy the product sense questions are a joke... so don’t worry !!.. it’s a data analyst role disguised as a Data Scientist
Thank you. Gave me some confidence
Good you correctly identified that DS is BI at FB.
