Non tech Fortune 500 companies are likely still on old services like teradata because it's too hard to migrate. And tech firms (google, facebook, amazon) are likely all on their own custom solutions
Depends on what you mean by core technologies. We are largely in Hadoop now. Most of DS uses Spark on Hadoop or stand alone. Python seems to be the language of preference lately.
