Data scientist - expedia

I am working as a software engineer 90k as base in richmond virginia. Expedia had offered me 120 k in seattle as data scientist. Is this a decent enough offer. I have 2 years of experience in data scientce and 5 years over all experience. Not sure if my masters counts here. I do not have the full comp structure yet.

With only 2 years experience, coming from Richmond (I’m from there, I know the companies and market), yes, the offer is reasonable. Good, is subjective.

I think it's a great offer for someone with 2 yrs experience

And no body counts my more than 5 years of IT experience?

Well, honestly, 5 years of IT experience doesn't mean much. The level and comp depends on how well you did in your interviews and if you have competing offers etc...

TC will likely be 120 base and 10-12.5% bonus. Don’t expect RSUs. They will offer some amount of relo. Of note, you can try to get a sign on bonus in cash if you forego relo. Depends on your life situation though.

I'm approaching my 6 year at expe this Jan. I got roughly a 20% signing bonus with two year vesting. I was local with no relo.

What is this? Data Scientist I = K level?

Capital One Donttell OP Oct 12, 2017

This is for data scientist 2 position

Agree - reasonable. Bonus will be above 10% - probably 12.5 and no your 3 years of IT don't count much for data science.

Did someone refer you or you got the interview on your own. I am Data Scientist too. I applied at Expedia but never heard back from them.
