Dating in NYC?

So according to every post on Blind, NYC is the mecca for single guys since getting dates is so easy any day of the week. According to every post on /r/nyc, dating is terrible since everyone is busy and flaky AF.

So which is it? Let's assume I'm looking for an actual relationship (short term is fine to begin with), not just a million dates to hook up with. Is NYC just Tinder paradise with no hope of anything more meaningful?

Easy. Beautiful women that are so jaded bc they get treated like crap are bountiful. I swing so out of my league here.

I haven't had a problem .. mostly it's the guys who get flaky, not the girls.

Hey. Don't worry. Most women out there are looking for long term relationship. It mostly depends on the things the guy do. Things showing you want to be comitted, then we start falling for you. Since you work at Facebook it also shows you are smart tgat can attract many potential dates. But I wouldn't mention it on the profile. Being a well round person with a view on the world is important. Online dating is very competitive. If the guy is overweight I wouldn't go on a date with him for example. Having muscles and intelligence is sexy. Best of luck.

Yes. I wouldn't do it. He is trying to get a date not a job.

That is not his Linkedin profile. Its a dating profile. He can write about himself not his job.

But why not mention job at all? It at least allows for a topic of messaging..that seems weird

Dating in New York is easy and fun. Relax a bit, don't be creepy, and remember that first dates are actually incredibly low stakes. Have a good time :).

New York is an amazing city to date in - but there is also competition so you need to be a decent, clean, and a well composed human.

My success in New York was mostly based on that I spread a lot of good energy when I partied and I always had fun people around me.

Relax, smile, and have fun! The girls will come! I personally didn’t find it hard at all to get second dates.

Finding the right person for you is hard but not impossible. In the meantime, you can get lots of dates with women who are already dating a ton of people and sleeping with a few. They’re still unfulfilled and have practically become professional eaters** who treat dating like shoe shopping, so they keep dating. All they can bring to the table in most cases is that they love food and they love to travel. Pretty deep, huh? Incapable of emotional or intellectual connection.

**Edit: I meant to type “professional daters” not eaters. Didn’t correct it because it’s funny and true.
