I’ll let this quote from the article kick it off: "Republicans have chosen the far right, which means that they have ceded a good portion of the middle of the road,” said former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, who is considering a presidential run. “The Democrats, in my opinion, would make a big mistake if they decide to run a base election and just say, ‘Our base is bigger than your base.'" ... The difficulty will be selling this approach in the Democratic presidential primary to a base that has seemed to move in the opposite direction. So 1. Democrat’s base want things proposed by the left (increasing the minimum wage, healthcare, and “green new deal” all poll in the 70s or 80% among registered Democrats but also high in the general population) 2. The Democratic base is larger than the Republican base 3. The leadership of the DNC want to ignore the wishes of their base and try and sell their voters on policies intended to appeal to Republicans (the mythical never-Trumpers). 4. Trump’s support is basically the Republican base. 2016 was an election of mobilizing respective bases and by ignoring their union base, expected midwestern voters did not show up for Clinton. So why are the DNC and DLC type leaders doubling-down on a strategy that failed in 2016? Because they are scared that voter left-populism will drive Wall Street and big donors from the party. So now we have a right-wing party with the Republicans, and a moderate Conservative party with the Democrats. Liberals, progressives, leftists, we are more numerous than the right, but where’s a party that represents us? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/sanders-wing-party-terrifies-moderate-dems-here-s-how-they-n893381

28 terrorist worshipping idiots just got themselves fired and I've never been prouder to work at Google.
You should try to organize your diverse progressive left. I’ve heard the “diversity is strength” propaganda on MSM. Good luck getting liberal whites, Mexicans, Muslims, Jews, Asians, and Blacks on the same page. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They already are, but end up voting for a party that’s more interested in Wall Street and building prisons than carrying out the wishes of that multi-ethnic base.
It’s already comical watching the diverse Dems self-destruct. They’ll probably go with Biden or Beto. Safe white male bets who are beholden to corporations.
This is why we need rank choice voting.
“moderate Conservative party with the Democrats” LOL not in decades
Voted for the war on terror, “tough on crime” policies, pro-business policies, a pro-insurance industry healthcare plan, gutted welfare, voted for more border patrol, voted for border dense, supported USAPatriot act... should I go on? And here’s what their plan is for the next election: “Some of the key initiatives are a massive apprenticeship program to train workers, a privatized employer-funded universal pension that would supplement Social Security and an overhaul of unemployment insurance to include skills training. Other proposals included a "small business bill of rights" and the creation of a "BoomerCorps" — like the volunteer AmericaCorps for seniors.” Oh yeah, but I forget that FOX News says they are far-left, so we can ignore their actual record and the leading politics of the organization 🙄
I think democrats need to walk a central path that would appease both never trumpers and the “yeah i will vote for the person whose policies are best “
2016 election showed us that most republicans, even those who are skeptical about trump, will vote for republicans. Democrats need to inspire turnout like with Obama in 2008 rather than trying to win Republican votes
40% of eligible voters don’t currently vote but would probably support things like increasing the minimum wage (and many in this group of non-voters did turn out for Obama). But the “pragmatic” moderates want to focus their national strategy around 1% of never Trumpers. It’s a terrible strategy unless your constituents are really only Wall Street and big donors who obviously want the status quo and not the change the base wants.
I was a middle of the road person until 2016. Now I'm considered "far right". Funny thing is, by views haven't changed. The left has gone so much further left it's incredible.
I’m down with Kamala Harris. I think Elizabeth Warren is smart but she doesn’t have the nerves of steel you need to go against Trump. He gets under her skin too easily and she wouldn’t do well in a debate.
Kamala is a cop. No thanks, buddy.
So? She’s from Oakland. Represent.
I’d bang cortez tho something about her really turns me on — not her teeth tho
Too much porn man.
