I am a full stack developer. While looking for new opportunities, interviewed for a DevOps role since the hiring manager was a very smart person and thought could learn from some of the best and was thinking of changing tracks slightly. This role required a developer and involves a lot of working with AWS and eventually Google cloud and Docker and Kubernetes and no on call. When I spoke to few people, they said this has a good market for jobs for atleast 10 years to come. Since I dont know much about Devops, I am not sure what to think of this offer. Anyone can throw some light on this? How is the scope? Is it better than being just a developer?
Itโs pretty solid. Devops engineer jobs everywhere at almost all companies.
Not 10 years, but there's demand for sure. Competition from cheaper labor will come soon!
