In 2017 while driving for Lyft in DC, Cambridge Analytica came up a few times but I had no idea what they were talking about. It wasn’t until late 2017 that someone identifying themselves as someone currently apart of Google who was in Capital Hill for something (I can’t remember but I think he was there to inform people in congress of something) started breaking it down in a way I could understand months before the news broke on Cambridge. I documented this ride, not as detailed as I’d like but there none the less it did happen. Did Google know about Cambridge Analytica in 2017 or earlier? Did they know what was going on during the 2016 election? Some people I spoke to dc had a feeling something was off during the election but they couldn’t put their finger on it until after the curtains were raised. Some claim it was an open secret. Idk what to believe.
Both sides do the same thing. Everyone knows about it, but this time, it’s a problem because the conservatives used it to their advantage.
Considering The Guardian reported about CA in 2015, an article I remember reading, how could Google not know by 2017?
I knew about CA during the election.
Google knows everythin
People were talking about it on Blind back in 2017. Unfortunately search kinda sucks here.
Google is a crook and a data hoarder. They knew everything. The reason they have a nerdy head-nodding CEO who only talks about politically correct things is so that they can do their subversive activities underneath.
Cambridge Analytica has been well known as the marketing organization that helped Republicans and the pro-Leave side for Brexit win.
Most people learned about them in around April 2018. I started hearing about them early fall of 2017, and the Google guy was Winter 2017.
