Did I choose the wrong field?

I’m surrounded by men all the time and 65% of them have autism including me. What do I do to fix this problem?

Hoping getting an MBA will bring me out of this SWE sausage fest.

This post is plain sexist, no joking. Also calling someone autistic is on the same ballpark as calling someone gay, or black. Think about it.

Now the joke part. How didn't you see that coming on college/uni? Since high school I knew that stem wasn't exactly cool, sexy, and full of women.

Sure, but life isn't supposed to be easy. If you actually like the core SWE role, you'll be miserable if you shift to another industry for extraneous reasons.

In that case, you definitely chose the wrong field. Go do an MBA and figure out what you like.

Men are great and women are great and they’re great in different ways. Men can’t make me feel the way women do (unfortunately)

You saying the term ‘autistic fucks’ just makes you a piece of shit. That’s why nobody likes you and you have no friends, not because of your job title. You sound like an unhappy, judgmental, angry, hateful human being.

Poor baby, you have a high-paying job and a successful career.

Perhaps you'd like to get into a field with lots and lots of women. I must warn you that these occupations, due in part to being considered "women's work," are not paid well. So you can definitely escape the sausage fest if you don't mind escaping your high salary too!

May I suggest nursing (actually paid fairly well as jobs go, but probably still a drop in pay from what you're getting now, and the work is more demanding physically and emotionally), childcare (almost entirely women! shit pay though), or elementary school teaching?

Not sure why you think an MBA will help alleviate your too many men situation. There are more Fortune 500 CEOs named James than there are Fortune 500 CEOs who are women (source: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/04/24/upshot/women-and-men-named-john.html). Go get a degree in social work and you'll be surrounded by (severely underpaid) women.

Get friends outside of work and also it seems like a HR problem (not hiring diverse people) that is difficult to fix. That’s what happens when the system fails and managers hire people they like instead of what’s good for the team (“soft” skills, though I hate the term)
