Anyone knows if he got fired? His Linkedin lists him as an adjunct. I have heard that the University had a beef that he was devoting too much time to activities outside university, especially profit seeking roles. As an aside, I had a lot of respect for him when he came out with his machine learning course on coursera. I have lost a lot of it however as he slowly began pitching ML and AI as the cure for literally every problem on earth.
He tries hard to be like those Stanford faculties 30 years ago, who were successful both in academia and industry. Doesn’t seem to work so far...

Was prolly skipping faculty meetings and union gatherings
i don’t like him. Apart from the mooc, what’s his controbution that worth the hype he got?
Coursera being pretty much free source of high quality information...
Sparse sampling for MDP learning? He's also the advisor for like every famous Stanford AI graduate student
I think he deserves lots of credit for making these skills a commodity
Would be a stupid move to fire such a celebrity for like a 200k salary
