Discussing TC directly with hiring manager
It’s a boomerang move to a FAANG under another team, HM who knows me well pinged me on LinkedIn asking to come back in his team for a super nice role. I’m not happy in gcp sales and want to jump ship I told him my current comp and target comp (+%20) and he’s checking out If he really wants me, can he influence compensation team and move the bands?

Hiring manager can't over rule hiring committee ordinarily. Maybe if your mgr is one of very top people in the org.
I think ultimately the Hiring Manager could Overrule anyone.
Not at companies like google/Facebook, you need SVP approval to go out of band. And I’m not sure a SVP would override level from the hiring committee, seems like super exceptional.
