Disney Comp?

What's the average compensation for employees at Disney? How much does an average SWE make there? Also, what are benefits like? What kinds of perks do you guys get?

Looked into it once. Glassdoor says around 150k is doable, 200k+ is for senior management. You get silver passes to the parks for year round entry. Info is about a 2 years old from me

How is Disney going to get decent engineers and compete with Netflix if they don’t have perks/good pay

I have the same question.

We'll see if Disney will adopt Hulu's model or continue with their model within two years.

Disney’s comp is very competitive in LA area, or I should say used to be competitive because they never had to compete with Netflix or alike. Disney has different businesses which offer different pay. They have had great investments in their frontline products like movies, animation, production etc however everything that is not frontline doesn’t offer great pay... That being said, I think it’s not clear how the pay structure at Streaming Services which will include Hulu will look like in months to come. I am sure they will pay better than rest of the company but will be at par with Netflix, I doubt but I hope they know they are competing differently in Streaming war than Movie business.

I doubt it is competitive when you compare it tech industry.

Hulu's pay in LA is way more than DSS pay in SF. Considering LA is cheaper to live in compared to SF, drastic changes would need to happen at DSS. I don't see that happening.

I'm a staff engineer at the studios. Make slightly less than 200k TC

Amazon yfsevyu4:/ Jul 8, 2019

That is below average when compared with tech industry. This will need to change if they want to attract talent.

I'm not holding my breath for them to catch up to FAANG compensation.

I’ve got a buddy who was offered a senior position in Seattle. TC was 150k

Can someone explain the comp bands at Disney to me? I’m interviewing for a non-tech position
