Do Asana, Pinterest, Airbnb, Dropbox, Slack tend to hire only from top schools?

How does a new grad from not so top tier school, get a recruiter to have a look at resume?
Email on LinkedIn to a recruiter, they don't reply.
Online application, they don't look or reject after seeing new grad.

Particularly about Airbnb, so they have relatively more women than men?

At the beginning of your email write that you are a black gay transvestite female and your pronouns are she and her and you are allergic to gluten. This will get you interviews at all the top tech companies in the Bay Area.

Unfortunately, yes. I’ve referred couple new grads and couple less than two years of experience, and they didn’t even get a recruiter phone call before being rejected. Only ones that make it past the recruiter screens have been four plus years of experience.

I’ve only seen interns and new grads coming from top tier school names here...

How do I get into top schools like Stanford and MIT with a 2.0 GPA?

OP if you can figure the answer to this, then you got it.

Have you considered starting at a slightly lower tier company ? Getting openings as a new grad from mid tier schools can be tough. But the tech world has companies other than the top dozen you hear about daily, & many of them pay quite well.

Maybe 10% are from different schools. It seems like most of the interns and new grads come from top US schools, and Canadian schools (Waterloo, occasionally others).

You do definitely see a mix of new grads from schools that are super competitive for CS, like CMU, and schools that are just super competitive overall (ivys). Probably more people are from schools that are well known for CS, though.

Yeah, I don’t think there’s a policy but that’s the tendency. We don’t have tons of engineers available to do interviews like Google, FB, or even Uber. So somehow I guess they have to do filtering out before any interviews. Especially with new grads when there are so many applying now.
