This is mostly to current/former FB employees but maybe others have any knowledge too. I am thinking of making my last day to be exactly Nov 15th and wonder if I can still expect to get my RSU vested that day. I understand that waiting a few more days makes me playing safe but I am interested in exactly the scenario above because of other reasons. Any thoughts folks?
Give your notice after you get the stocks , i know a hr asking my peer to to move the last day by 3 days to avoid paying stocks
Why wouldn't you wait another month or 2 for bonus?
Bonus will be paid in March.... too long for anyone to wait.
Resign on Nov 15th .... even if they walk you out that day, Nov 15th will be a working day for you and you are entitled to get stocks. You don't have to wait for stocks to be in your account which might take few more days.
At will employment, they don't need to accept your 2-week notice and they won't if they know stocks vesting is in those 2 weeks.
FB will not actively care about your vesting... you are just one amongst thousands of employees. Unless you have a bad equation with your manager, you’ll be allowed to stick around for 2 weeks and will get your vesting.
Absolutely correct
If you work there on the 15th it’ll vest, Facebook is unlikely to walk you out

What if they walk you out and make what ever day you tell them you are quitting your last day? I would give my 2 weeks notice after stocks vest.
Even if they walk you out, they should give you the 2 weeks pay, most big companies don’t want to get sued.
@nvidia: if they walk out, they are only liable for paying base salary but not RSU
