I am currently a Senior Product Manager at Nordstrom. Do I even stand a chance of getting a call from FAANG/Microsoft for PM roles? How can I position myself. I have been in this role from 2yrs. Was a program manager/software engineer in previous roles at medium sized companies. Any guidance appreciated. TC:220K
Damn son y'all hiring PMs?
Yeah, am surprised by your TC - significantly better than mine.
I find it hard to believe that! What level at msft?
If you believe you shall succeed!
I’ve hired several from Nordstrom. It’s a pretty easy and seamless transition. And these were PMT roles.
What sort of projects do PMs at Nordstrom work on?
New features for. Com mobile app internal tools supply chain applications etc.
Yes of course! With a bit of prep and luck , anybody could crack faang and msft should be even easier
What’s your breakdown of TC at Nordstrom? I hear they have better WLB and let you WFH too.
Base 170k+25% target bonus which I generally hit may be a bit over as well. No stock. They offer espp at 10% discount, but jwn stock not doing really good. Yes wlb is great, but feel the need to upgrade my skill set.
You are trending close to FAANG TC so you should try to move if upgrade in skill is needed. No signing bonus offered at JWN?
I left Nordstrom for Microsoft but as a dev. Nordstrom pays pretty well especially with the new bonus targets. Keep in mind, even with exceeds reviews you probably won't hit your target comp.

Does msft really pay this low?
Your TC about at FANG level. You won’t get more TC. Why FANG?
I’m assuming OP is after some of the non-TC-related benefits of working at FAANG. Not everything is about money. If it were, you would be an investment banker.
What non-tc related benefit? Example? It’s all about money.
