Currently a TVC up for conversion at Google. Was recently informed that they want to delay the interviews till next year. I was going under the original intent of doing the interview conversion process this month so I setup interviews with Facebook/etc. To make sure I get the right offers. Do I tell Google I don't want to delay because I'm actively interviewing or just surprise them with counter offers if everything goes well?
I did and I got rejected. It was actually kind of funny, I got a call the same day that you are moved to the next rounds and asked to fill a form, where there was a question whether I am actively interviewing, for which I replied yes and then the recruiter called after an hour saying . Sorry there was some mistake in your evaluation, we cannot move you to next rounds.
Recruiter job is to get candidate in. So hope you understand this.
If you have Facebook interview already lined up then tell them... Otherwise wait till you get the date.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
Be open and honest with your recruiter.
