going to onboarding soon — my background is hard networking (used to work for Cisco consulting) and network security/ compliance & design (govt DoD stuff). Dont really have a love for scripting but I do a little bit of python at my current job. wonder if i should put more focus into it
You won’t be writing code in this role, but it comes handy if you can code to write Lambda functions etc for a poc for a customer. Also writing cloud formation template will be very important. Overall, learn python or node and do some practice
Ok that totally makes sense! Do you have any other tips for success? Haha
Well... just be on top of all the new services and features etc. it’s hard to keep up with the platform, so make full use of the ramp up period to learn as much as you can, do certifications etc. once you are assigned customers, a lot will depend on your customers as in who they are and what they are doing on the platform etc.

So you cleared all the interviews and you don't know what's expected of you?
Yeah they said it’s a generalist role and I can pivot to security or networking later if that is what I wanted
