I’ve been implementing Adobe Enterprise Manager Sites since 2013 on about a dozen projects, mostly working remotely with some travel. I wish there was a company based in down town Boston, that would buy and implement AEM, and would look to hire people with AEM experience to implement it. I’m kind of fed up working remotely, an AEM job in downtown Boston is what I’ve been looking for, but they don’t exist.
You’ve cornered yourself. Have you considered Acquia? They’re Drupal, growing super fast and HQ’d in Boston.
I’ve implemented other CMS’s and Drupal before, they don’t even compare to AEM, may be it’s the cost of it.
Perhaps check with Adobe. Not sure about specific east coast locations, but they’re always hiring AEM Customer Success Engineers. Pay is usually higher than other engineering positions at Adobe. (I just saw your current company; I assume you’re already a CSE..)
RSA, Bose, Aetna, Mathworks is all I can think of.

I think you’ve cornered yourself in a dead-end niche... I would diversify your skills ASAP.
