Curious if any SWE roles offer or allow a schedule that is closer to second shift (or even overnight) to avoid having to commute in slow, rush hour traffic. I would imagine this would facilitate living further out and more cheaply, if that meant your commute was completed at a higher average speed.
Our teams have flexible hours. Some folks roll in at seven, others at noon.
Cisco is flexible. Some ppl come in early by 7 and some come in late after 10am in my team.
Same at Adobe. I usually like to get in before traffic some of my team mates come after

I have a team member who comes at 5/6 am and leaves at 2/3 pm.

I come in after lunch around 1pm and leave around 10pm - everyday.
