I am going to change into a new job soon. My end goal is to maybe move to Google 3 years down the line(I couldn't get in right now, because no team match). I was wondering how much do brand names matter on the resume. My 2 offers right now are Amazon & Qualtrics. Amazon is a much bigger brand name v/s Qualtrics. While Qualtrics has better work life balance and perks. I also feel I will get more ownership of projects at Qualtrics compared to maybe Amazon. I am not afraid of putting in the long hours if needed, but my fear is if I move to a lesser known company, maybe I will not get calls in future. Any thoughts would be really appreciated. What's the role and the two offers?
Its SDE-2 positions at both the places. And the 2 offers sum out to be exactly 220K plus/minus 1-2K
It doesn't really matter between Amazon and Qualtrics, both are good enough. The role is more important. If you're looking to move to Google look into what experience will be more useful in Google.
Imo it will matter. With faangmulla companies you have higher chances to get the first interview. But qualtrics is known as well so make sure to take up good projects and drive.
Expedia + Qualtrics is good enough
Amazon is more worth it, brand name matters a lot
Big names don’t matter unless you ain’t got em.

Google announces more layoffs, plans to relocate jobs overseas
Im curious. I had offers from amazon and Glassdoor. I picked Glassdoor so hoping to see others thoughts
I've been long enough on blind to know that Amazon is one of the worst companies to work for (search blind history for bananas or depression).
Facts from what I’ve gathered too. :p
