Aside from timed HackerRank (and similar) tests, do they ever take ‘no more’ than 2 or 3 hours? One company’s basically having me design a programming language and build a compiler under that assumption. I won’t say the company, but I’m a little turned off by the exercise.
Ahh cause being able to show that you can reinvent the wheel means u can or are going to do real work. Or maybe it’s a just a fucking fools errand.
Sounds stupid.
I’ve turned down interviews because their process is too much of a hassle. If its not worth your time then I would just tell them that you’re not interested in going through their process.
I might start doing this for companies that tell me they ask LeetCode-like questions. Good suggestion!
The only reason they get away with the shit they do is because we’re too stupid to refuse.

I’ve been through that pattern and gotten an offer. It’s actually better than bfs and dfs if you know what I mean. They are actually looking if you can do real work. I’d put my heart into it if you like the company.
Yeah, I like it better than that, too. It’s still a big pain.
