YOE experience 5 I was a SDE2 in previous company. Due to layoff had only offer from Microsoft at L60 and had to join. I feel bad about my career, with atleast 1 yr before I can get promoted based on current competitiveness in team. If I tell my level as 61/62 to other company I'm interviewing with, Can they figure out, given YOE is valid 5 yrs
They will re level you to the appropriate grade based on your skills.
So should i tell my grade as 61/62 or tell the correct grade as 60 and ask for higher SDE2? I feel that they might think me as underperformer
Just find your level equivalent and ask for that. Align to their description
