I've never once had a good or worthwhile experience with them. Curious if anyone bothers speaking with them and if you've had a good experience.
When you have so few data points on what the market thinks your particular skills are worth, it's worth it to chat and get more.
After interacting with a few years ago, I never used them, just a waste of time and energy.
Only one I talked to was extremely unhelpful
Yeah. Often they reach out to me because the company they represent doesn't know how to get my attention. Great for passive search and interview practice.
So how can a recruiter get your attention?
They actually tell me what company they are representing, the location, and the product I'd be working on. Otherwise, if all they have is a generic req "in the financial services industry" they can join the other 8 of them in my spam folder.
I stopped doing so long long time ago.
I landed a job from a external recruiter. Some are good but most not so much.
Tried with two, both came across as borderline scammers. Won’t bother again.
No way
Skyrocket ventures still calls my parents house phone. So slimy.
