Sounds like PR bullshit. I'll believe it when something actually changes.

EATON Mi8c2 Aug 19, 2019

This is exactly what I was going to say, I’ll believe it when I see it

Tableau oboo Aug 19, 2019

Yup. Don't listen to what they say, look at what they do.

Did they change the law? If not then they’re lying to you as any publicly trade company is LEGALLY obligated to increase profits.

Dell .+ Aug 19, 2019

You'll have to point me to that specific law .. you have to perform 'in the best interest ' of shareholders, that doesn't specifically mean increase profit, it could be 'longevity of the business ', at least the way I remember reading it.

Treating employees well and doing what is best for shareholders are not mutually exclusive.

EATON Mi8c2 Aug 19, 2019

Sure, not always. But sometimes they come into conflict and as it stands right now in the US, shareholder value always wins.

Procore Obama2024 Aug 19, 2019

I don’t buy it. It’s lazy and a cop out

Throughout history the business class has just looked out for themselves through war / revolutions and everything . This is no different - businesses will say whatever is cool or the current viewpoint for PR and keep the money machine going . Their only conviction is making money and buying that penthouse in a cool part of a cool city . #SethJi_values
