Own TC 260k
Own, paid cash for it.
Own. Total monthly cost: zero (I pay insurance and gas) TC: 180k Car age: 13 years.
Insurance premium and coverage? Not coverage amount but features, ie collision, comprehensive.
Premium: Around $300 for 6months. Coverage: state minimum. I "self-insure" my car. If anything breaks, I pay to get it fixed. If nothing breaks the money grows with S&P 500. ;)
Own. Paid cash. 2nd owner. TC 145k. Car is 13 years old, well maintained and I upgrade parts from newer gen models on occasion. Try not to drive if I don't have to as I'm keeping it forever.
Examples of upgrades from newer gen models?
I upgraded the brakes to larger diameter from a newer gen. Also various interior electronics, seats w/ warmers. Also the exhaust. Come to think of it, I've done quite a bit and have yet more I want to complete. That said, I'm what you would consider an enthusiast, so I don't anticipate most people would go through this trouble.
