Doordash = shit. They already play a lot of gimmicks with pricing. Ubereats is way better.
And Postmates the best
Wow most people don't tip. Ouch for those guys. And you all will millions of RSUs
No; I don't tip anywhere. And fun fact: I used to work in the"food services" industry as a waiter who received most of my compensation via tips. Owners of businesses leveraging social norms to offload their requirement to pay workers onto customers via exploitation of morality is disgusting. Pay your fucking staff a fair living wage. If they are insanely excellent, then they deserve more than the baseline of zero. If they suck, fire them. Just like any other business. And while I am at it, all US businesses should be required to include sales tax in the pricetag of their goods and they should arrange the prices such that they are equally divisible by $0.10.
Give this man a trophy! (Exactly 100% what I think)
This sounds harsh. I tip pretty much everyone, but not more than 10% unless they really put some effort to give the best service, then I give 15%. I just hate it when restaurants include 18% tip for 5+ table regardless of the quality of service
I always tip 15% upto $7 max. I tip little less for ubereats since they already charge me $4.99 as delivery fee !
:( so sad to see the low # of tipper here and this is supposed to be the high earner cohort. DoorDash delivery only makes $5 per delivery. Between waiting for the order, going to a restaurant and trying to find your house, a lot of time and gas were spent. Have some compassion. I at least tip to make sure the driver has $10 per hour. The same for Lyft and Uber drivers. This is a very expensive place to live. I tip well for others as well like TaskRabbit, Takl etc.
No they don't only make 5%, they already jack up item prices by 20% and charge restaurant some fee
I find it sad that you support offloading the responsibility of employment costs from the employer to the customer in a direct way using moral leverage.
Most Indians don't tip. Wonder how many non-tippers here are Indians
What makes you say that lol
I am an Indian. Reading this post made me realize that I have been tipping too much.
I don't like the tipping culture at all but when in Rome...
I tip many folks in the service industry well since they are more in need of my change than I am. They work a fairly thankless job with no chance at meaningful career development let alone time to learn. That being said, Washington is a rare state that even tipped workers get the minimum wage ($11.50/hr currently), so not tipping as much isn't as bad as other states.
I hate tipping so much. But unfortunately not born a sociopath so the guilt trip gets me.
What if they deliver for company events?
