No; I don't tip anywhere. And fun fact: I used to work in the"food services" industry as a waiter who received most of my compensation via tips.

Owners of businesses leveraging social norms to offload their requirement to pay workers onto customers via exploitation of morality is disgusting.

Pay your fucking staff a fair living wage. If they are insanely excellent, then they deserve more than the baseline of zero. If they suck, fire them. Just like any other business.

And while I am at it, all US businesses should be required to include sales tax in the pricetag of their goods and they should arrange the prices such that they are equally divisible by $0.10.

I'm 100% with you on that. Fuck being guilted by shitty waiter "why don't you tip?". This is a freaking chinese buffet I'm not giving you 20% because you bring a soda wtf

You can argue against automatic tips if the service had a problem, usually.

Agreed! I don't tip unless I'm planning on coming back frequently. And then I'm only tipping because I don't want the waiter to spit in the food. Doordash... literally never had a repeat driver, plus they don't know which house didn't tip that night, plus they get extra comp for houses that don't tip.

Also same stance for cruises. Everyone should be charged more instead of offloading employer responsibility to the individual buyers.

I always tip even when I don’t like the food or the service just to beat this stereotype. FML

I am an Indian I overcompensate because of this stereotype. I tip every time even if the service is terrible. Fuck me.

:( so sad to see the low # of tipper here and this is supposed to be the high earner cohort. DoorDash delivery only makes $5 per delivery. Between waiting for the order, going to a restaurant and trying to find your house, a lot of time and gas were spent. Have some compassion. I at least tip to make sure the driver has $10 per hour. The same for Lyft and Uber drivers. This is a very expensive place to live. I tip well for others as well like TaskRabbit, Takl etc.

No they don't only make 5%, they already jack up item prices by 20% and charge restaurant some fee

I find it sad that you support offloading the responsibility of employment costs from the employer to the customer in a direct way using moral leverage.

Then don’t use doordash. If you use them then tip the drivers. If you think it’s exploitative then go drive yourself. It’s not that hard to figure out. Think a server in the restaurant is part off restaurant offloading responsibilities to you? Then simple, don’t eat out or patron the restaurants or else, tip. They barely make minimum wages as it is.

Wtf? How do you have the rights to tell someone else not using doordash? The app has my credit card number, I shop there base on the price numbers I see and they charge my card the seen amount. It’s a fair transaction. Tipping doesn’t make you a better person. I pay tax to the country, a lot.

    Doordash = shit.
They already play a lot of gimmicks with pricing.
    Ubereats is way better.

I hate tipping so much. But unfortunately not born a sociopath so the guilt trip gets me.

I always tip 15% upto $7 max. I tip little less for ubereats since they already charge me $4.99 as delivery fee !

I tip many folks in the service industry well since they are more in need of my change than I am. They work a fairly thankless job with no chance at meaningful career development let alone time to learn. That being said, Washington is a rare state that even tipped workers get the minimum wage ($11.50/hr currently), so not tipping as much isn't as bad as other states.
