Google does and a few of the startups I interviewed with do (Asana). How about FB?
Isn't whiteboard better than a laptop?
I’m faster at typing than whiteboardin
Be careful with that, it's harder to explain your thought process when you're typing than when you're whiteboarding. Also harder to draw arrows, circle things, draw examples, write test scenarios, etc. And every programmer is faster at typing than whiteboarding, so you're on the same level as everyone. Unless you have a disability, it shouldn't matter.
It’s allowed. You can bring your own or ask for one.
Anyone else feel like they do better on a whiteboard? Or is it just me?
Does Facebook ask about resume experience or behavior questions? If yes in which stage : phone or on-site
Box does. Two hours. 15 min presenting the question. 90 min coding. 15 min presenting the solution. Rest are whiteboard.
yes. ask recruiter
Why would you want to? I found the whiteboard interviews at FB fine. If you change the normal interview structure to suit your preference, personally I feel like you're basically asking to be judged harsher. Also, how are you going to quickly write out examples, brainstorm in an editor? You're giving yourself a handicap.
You know they also have a whiteboard in the room too right?
Did you even read my first sentence? I'm no sure what's difficult about writing basic code on a whiteboard. I could understand if it was syntactically heavy, but for coding interviews it's not.
I interviewed with FB about a month ago, it was full whiteboard.
