Does Lyft allow internal transfer to satellite offices after a year?
I heard that Uber allows this and that the manager cannot necessarily block it. Does Lyft allow this? I want to work in Lyft but it seems that right now their NYC office only hires senior engineers. Hypothetically if I join their SF office and work their for a year, can I transfer to NYC after that?
There's no rule against it. We're pretty flexible with these things from what I can tell. But we're flexible because things are constantly changing so we need that flexibility, which is why it would be hard for someone to promise you that there will be a spot in NYC for you after a year. But if you're good at finding opportunities, you'll be able to work your way to a different office if you so choose.
