I have an offer from Microsoft for an internship and the deadline is coming up soon. I'm also in host matching with Google, and interviewing with LinkedIn. If I don't get either offer by my Microsoft deadline, should I accept Microsoft and then renege if Google or LinkedIn pulls through later on? I know Microsoft and LinkedIn have separate hiring processes, but LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft. Will reneging on Microsoft for LinkedIn be problematic? Personally, I'd like to work at G or LinkedIn more than Microsoft. Tc: 0 (student)
Your MS recruiter will seek vengeance and find your LinkedIn recruiter to make sure you get the rejection.
I am doomed
You can't prevent recruiters and managers from talking with each other offline and citing some other vague, unrelated reason for an early termination of employment; however, it is unlikely in practice.
Microsoft internship is a sweet gig
Oh, you are in quite a pickle. Try to work with your LinkedIn and Google recruiters to expedite the process; try to work with Microsoft recruiter to extend the deadline (they'll usually do that).
Microsoft recruiter won't extend my deadline. I think there's a very low chance to get offers from G or LinkedIn before msft deadline.
You canโt prevent hr talking with each other online or offline. However I do know someone renege the offer later. Itโs possible but has some bad influence as you would imagine.
