I work as a Software Engineer Intern, but the offical offer letter is IT intern. They do this title for all tech interns (IT, Software Engineer, Network Engineer, Tester and etc)
Depends on what background check the company does. I have never been checked for my past employment strangely. If the new company raises this question you can just explain. They understand. You can also provide references. It's not a big deal IMO

No but then your real title is IT Intern...
I know. It is ridiculous. I turned down other offers for it until I saw the offer letter. But meh, work was okay
It is an internship, you are an intern. What else do you expect? Principal Software Engineer?
