Is company loyalty still a thing outside of small startups?
No. Absolutely not a thing. I had a similar experience / I started thinking people would stop contacting me in case I join a direct competitor. I did, and get contacted even more since then! Not a thing.
Don't think too much
Er. it either reveals your prior employer didn't offer enough value in the proposition for you, or youre a millennial who is forever chasing the next best thing. loyalty is still immensely important for executives. it helps create defensible competitive positions, reduces their employment costs, and can benefit from economies of experience. I'm consulting for a tech company who is getting staff poached left and right.. it's deteriorating the culture. so from an executive level in a small start up, yes moving to competitor isn't great, moving from smaller to larger shop (or vice versa) is much more easily explainable and understandable.
I'm with Braendel to a degree. I encourage people who are co workers if you are not financially secure or happy in this area. By all means go for something more fitting. Whether it's the competitor or different market altogether. In the end, it doesn't look bad per say. What matters the most, is if the company you currently represent holds your passion without naïveté and with a non biased perspective about them so you may remain happy! This is what counts. The value that each side gives. Supply and demand. The value they give/receive, as well as you receive/give. As long as those are held content to happiness. Then it should not matter how it looks. In the end what matters is you being able to fulfill a future of financial progress for stability and success. Either for you, friends or family. Whomever it may be. Best of luck on this adventure
Nope. When reviewing candidates I only care what they delivered in their time at whatever company they worked for.
If you're talented it won't matter. It's still the job seeker's market. Also, will the next place even know that the previous two small companies were competitors?
Probably only if it's another competitor lol.

I’m Sooo Happy about Biden signing TikTok ban bill today!!
No I wouldn't say so
It seems pretty and immature to me, but I wasn't sure if it still might be the attitude.
