He provides good insights and advice for young people. Yes! But, I personally feel he is a bit c*cky. I would not want to work with with as a co-worker. Anyone has worked with him? Is it how (most) engineers in Google behave? Someone mentioned about his deleted comment on reddit
I think he's sarcastic but not cocky though
Y'all need to pick up social skills. It's obviously sarcasm.
Not from my perspective. He seems to always brag about his title at G, which is a red-flag imo.
That's the point. He intentionally goes overboard, in an attempt to make it entertaining. But that's the thing with sarcasm; not everyone will get it and some may find it offensive or plain annoying. I personally find it really funny. He knows how ridiculous he sounds. You can usually catch a little smirk following his classic "I'm the tech lead.. the Google tech lead!" He has good content. He must be doing something right if he has so many subscribers.
There’s a reason why he’s the **ex** Google techlead. I think he got fired for being such a cocky prick 🤔
Could be
Well he did say in his latest videos that he had some trouble with people there. I think it was in the video where he talked about why he left Google or something
I’d be a cocky prick too if I got paid 500k a year to make bull crap videos.
I agree on this. He knows his audience well to target on what they want to listen. Sound advice + sell courses = great business model on Youtube 2019. He knows what he is doing. However, my point is about whether his behavior reflects the majority of engineers at Google.
Interview prep business is booming right now. Look at techlead joma collab, algoexpert dudes, csdojo, leetcode and so on. Almost all tech channels these days are about interview prep. Even Brad Traversy started a data structures Playlist
You guys know he's trolling right? It's a joke. He says tech lead and google multiple times from his shack as a joke. See his interviews for more obvious trolling if you don't get the act.
Imagine you were going to be a YouTuber today. You record a video of yourself talking, but realize it won't get any views. People watch videos partially for entertainment. Whatever you're seeing on YouTube has went through, presumably, some amount of planning, shooting, edits, etc. So you're seeing a false persona that he created to make his videos more appealing. His very first videos (I followed him when he was only at 10-20k subs) were very straight shooter advice and not much role playing, but he has deleted all of those unfortunately. You have to also realize his targeted demographic is probably a younger tech career hopeful crowd.
Yes I watched those first videos. There was no sarcasm. The whole techlead meme was apparently coz someone at a grocery store recognized and called him that instead of his real name. I think he now sells his first videos.
He's actually been working at Facebook for a year now
It really annoys me to see people who are unable to pick up sarcasm. Dumb af.

He actually seems like a humble and funny guy, definitely interesting person
It is my personal observation. Your perspective might be different
Yeah you’re right, my bad. I guess I just assumed that you were new to the channel but it’s wrong for me to assume that
