After yearly performance review, do you guys have performance based RSU grants apart from regular RSU refresh or is the refresh itself linked to performance. Also what is the range of base pay increase. This is for workday cloud team.
Refresh is linked to performance, and another 50 PSUs every year for hitting company goals that we always hit. Annual is handled by some algorithm which determines the average for your position, time in position, performance, against market pay. They try to bring everyone’s annual up to that average at least. Allegedly they want to start being more competitive in total compensation with other tech companies, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
The RSU refresher is arbitrary and largely depends on your manager. As politics creep into Workday and more outside managers are hired, who manage upwards , I’m not optimistic about keeping pace with the rest of the tech market in total compensation.

I don’t work for cloud team so YMMV. RSU refresher is determined by your manager but in general tied to your personal performance. In addition Workday does have a company wide performance RSU each year (not a lot, think about a few k$) if company performance hit some preset goals for the year. For base pay increase, again it is determined by your manager but in general it’s not (that much) tied to performance but to market pay. Depending on your current pay related to market I have seen 0-10% but I would say average is about 3%.
